The Community Impact Fund of CenDel plays a crucial role in supporting our community by providing grants to address various causes and community issues identified by our Board of Directors. Working closely with nonprofits and community leaders, the Board selects initiatives to support, ensuring a diverse range of needs are met. Annually, grants are distributed to eligible nonprofits, alongside addressing emergent community issues as they arise throughout the year.
 
Among the projects supported are the Christmas Toy Giveaway, Amish Bike Tour, Back-to-School Supplies, and the Down Syndrome Day Camp. These endeavors embody our commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families within Kent County.

CDHFH is dedicated to revitalizing Kent County communities and changing lives through the construction and renovation of quality homes in collaboration with families in need. Since our inception in 1990, CDHFH has proudly constructed and renovated over 50 homes, providing housing for more than 200 adults and children. Through this unique homeowner partnership, families can realize their dreams of homeownership and break the cycle of poverty.

 

 

 

 

The Dr. C. Edward Graybeal Scholarship Fund was founded in 2017 by the esteemed Late Dr. C. Edward Graybeal. This scholarship aims to recognize and support exceptional students from Milford High School whose goals and accomplishments are truly commendable.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Excellence in Education fund aims to bolster workforce development in Central Delaware by providing financial support to schools, colleges, and institutions. This enables them to offer vital instruction and education programs tailored to meet the evolving needs of the workforce.

 

 

 

The Gourmet Dinner FUN'd, founded by Joe and Tonda Parks, is an annual fundraising event known for its lively atmosphere and enjoyable activities. Proceeds from this event directly support the operations of the CenDel Foundation, furthering their mission to promote philanthropic giving and action in Kent County.

 

 

 

 

 

The Greater Kent Fund was established by the Kent Sussex Leadership Alliance (KSLA), formerly Greater Kent Committee, comprising CEOs and business leaders committed to enhancing the quality of life in Central Delaware. This fund is dedicated to the welfare of the citizens of Kent County, adapting its focus to address evolving community needs and the initiatives of the KSLA. The Kent County Fund for the Arts is an endowment that annually bestows grants upon chosen arts organizations within Kent County. This fund welcomes tax-deductible contributions from individuals and businesses who align with its mission. Recipients of the Fund include regional nonprofit organizations that enrich our quality of life, foster education, broaden perspectives, and contribute to community relations and economic prosperity in Kent County.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Kent County Fund for the Arts was established in 2008 through a generous donation from Rosemary M. Twilley, in memory of Joshua M. Twilley, Esq. Additional support came from members of the Kent County community, the CenDel Foundation, and arts patrons statewide.

 

 

 

The Kent County Conservancy is committed to conserving agricultural and forested lands, preserving historical and cultural heritage, and protecting natural resources and ecosystems. Through these efforts, the Conservancy aims to enhance the economic character and quality of life for all residents.

 

 

 

 

 

The Knucklehead Fund was created by a collective of individuals to commemorate their mentor and friend, a devoted public servant from Kent County known for his unwavering integrity and commitment to community service throughout his career. Its primary aim is to provide grants exclusively for charitable, scientific, or educational purposes in Central Delaware.

 

 

 

 

 

The fund was established by Sean and Shannon Mercer to bolster the marrow donor program in Kent County.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mom’s House of Dover provides single parents with the chance to pursue their educational aspirations by offering free childcare services for their young children from birth to age four. Our approach involves a professional staff working alongside dedicated volunteers, allowing us to maintain a 3:1 child-to-staff ratio. Renowned for our commitment to quality care, Mom’s House ensures a nurturing and stimulating environment for children.

 

 

 

 

The Parkview Family Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 by Mr. Rick Horsey, a dedicated supporter of Smyrna High School. Its mission is to acknowledge exceptional seniors from Smyrna High School who have exhibited outstanding goals and achievements and to support them in their pursuit of higher education.

 

 

 

 

The Hawkins Family Fund II, established by Kathleen & James Hawkins, is dedicated exclusively to supporting charitable, scientific, or educational objectives in Central Delaware.
